International Students

St Leo’s Catholic School has agreed to observe and be bound by the Code of Practice for the Pastoral Care of International Students. Copies of the Code are available from the New Zealand Ministry of Education website at www.minedu.govt.nz/international.

IMMIGRATION
Full details of immigration requirements, advice on rights to employment in New Zealand while studying, and reporting requirements are available from Immigration New Zealand, and can be viewed on their website at www.immigration.govt.nz.

ELIGIBILITY FOR HEALTH SERVICES
Most international students are not entitled to publicly funded health services while in New Zealand. If you receive medical treatment during your visit, you may be liable for the full costs of that treatment. Full details on entitlements to publicly funded health services are available through the Ministry of Health, and can be viewed on their website at www.moh.govt.nz.

ACCIDENT INSURANCE
The Accident Compensation Corporation provides accident insurance for all New Zealand citizens, residents, and temporary visitors to New Zealand, but you may still be liable for all other medical and related costs. Further information can be viewed on the ACC website at www.acc.co.nz.

MEDICAL AND TRAVEL INSURANCE
International students (including group students) must have appropriate and current medical and travel insurance while in New Zealand.

Fees (NZ Dollars)

Tuition fees @ $370 per week per child.

Admin fees @ $500 per child (non-refundable).

Government Charges/Requirements

ENROL Admin Charges $20.00 per child.

Govt Levy @ $10.73/week per child.

Class activities and camp fees are an extra cost.

Refund eligibility

The school will consider refunding all or part of your fees if:

There are special circumstances and you supply proof (e.g. the child has a serious illness or accident, or you need to return home because of the death of a family member).
Your child gains permanent residency during the course (you will need to provide documentation of the residency within 14 days of it being granted)
the school is closed for a period of one week or more due to force majeure. (Force majeure means an event beyond the reasonable control of the school, such as snow, earthquake, etc.)
The school is not obliged to refund fees if your child:
Has been asked to leave the school because of poor attendance or a breach of enrolment conditions.
Wishes to transfer to another educational institution for any reason.
Has special needs that you did not explain to the school on the enrolment form Conditions.
Should a student cancel their enrolment before commencing studies and fees have been paid a refund will be made of all the fees, less the administration fee and 10% of the school tuition fee.
